The Aspire National Training Centre in Stanmore, home to one of the UK's leading spinal cord injuries charities, re-opened its fitness studio on Saturday (August 12).

This follows the installation of a cardio theatre and the arrival of several new pieces of Technogym equipment which will benefit both able-bodied and disables users.

One piece of equipment is a cardiovascular machine that focuses on the upper part of the body, providing comprehensive exercise for muscles in the shoulders, arms and chest.

Another, the Cardio Wave is a revolutionary cardiovascular system to stimulate and tone the glutes, lower body and core

The new cardio theatre will also allow users to chose between four TV channels and listen in on earphones, so there will be no need to miss your favourite programme while at the gym.

The centre's manager, Tasha Dyson, said: "Our aim is to provide facilities for able bodies and disabled users to take part in together.".

The Aspire centre is in the grounds of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, off Wood Lane.
